The Janoshik Testing Fund: independent testing, funded openly
Download PDFWe have opened a public fund that pays for independent laboratory tests of Rierink lots. It is optional, it starts with €126.00 in the pool, and you decide what gets tested next.

Why independent testing matters
A certificate describes one sample from one lot. Most certificates in our COA library today are supplier documents, and we label them that way. An independent laboratory, with no stake in the result, adds a second line of evidence. It analyses a sealed vial taken from our own stock and reports the identity, the measured amount and the purity of what was actually submitted.
That is useful for any laboratory that relies on research material. It doesn't turn a research material into a medicine, and it doesn't prove that every future vial matches the tested sample. What it does is put an outside measurement on the record, where anyone can check it.
How the fund works
At checkout you'll see an option called Support independent Janoshik testing. It is switched off by default. If you turn it on, you choose €2, €5 or €10. Wholesale accounts can also choose €15. The contribution appears as its own line on your order and invoice. It doesn't change product prices, discounts or shipping.
Contributions count toward the pool once an order is paid. If an order is cancelled or refunded, its contribution is taken off again. When the pool reaches the cost of the next test, we send a sealed vial from our stock to Janoshik Analytical, an independent laboratory.

Why it is optional
We keep our prices low by not building laboratory fees into every product. Not every researcher needs another report, and those who don't shouldn't pay for one. Researchers who want more independent data can choose to fund it, and everyone can read the results.
The starting pool: €126.00
The fund doesn't start from zero. It opens with €126.00 already in it, recorded in the ledger as the starting balance. You can follow the live total on the fund page.
How the vote works

You choose what gets tested next: a compound and a vial size from the products currently in our catalogue. Each verified email address has one vote per round. An address is verified by a paid order (the vote link is in your order confirmation) or by a confirmation link we email you from the vote page. Every vote counts the same, however much was contributed. You can change your vote until the round closes. When a test is funded, the round closes, the result is archived and a new round opens.
Some catalogue items are not available in the vote. The list on the vote page is the complete list of options.
Transparency

Public pool: the fund page shows the starting balance, the paid contributions, the number of contributions and every test paid from the pool.
Verifiable reports: each finished report is listed with the compound, the vial size, our lot number, the cost, and its Janoshik task number with a link to verify.janoshik.com, so you can check the report on the laboratory's own site.
No personal data: we never publish names or email addresses of contributors or voters.
What happens next
The first vote round is open now. When the pool reaches the cost of the first test, we announce the winning compound and size, send the sample, and publish the report on the fund page and here on the blog as soon as the laboratory releases it. We also post updates on X (@rierinkcom) and on our Telegram channel.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a donation?
No. It is an optional contribution added to your order, used only to pay for independent tests of our own lots. It is not a charity and comes with no rewards.
Does it change my discount or free shipping?
No. Quantity tiers, payment-method discounts, codes and the free-shipping threshold work exactly as before. The contribution isn't discounted and doesn't count toward any threshold.
Is VAT charged?
The contribution is part of your order and is shown on your invoice with the applicable tax.
Can I vote without contributing?
Yes. Any paid order, or an email address you confirm, gives you one vote per round.
How do I check a report?
Open the "Verify at Janoshik" link next to the test on the fund page, or enter the task number on verify.janoshik.com.
Is Janoshik affiliated with Rierink?
No. Janoshik Analytical is an independent laboratory that we pay for its testing services.
