Reconstitution calculator
Select a catalog material and a diluent volume, then type a target mass. Optional: enter a mass already removed. The barrel shortens by that amount.
Peptide in the vial
5 mg
The dry mass on the label. Diluent volume never changes what is sealed in the vial.
Diluent
The volume you are choosing. More diluent spreads the same mass thinner. It lowers concentration. It does not change the vial content.
Any mass you type. This converts it to a volume. It does not suggest one.
If part of the vial was already removed, the barrel shows only what is left toward the mass you typed.

Shown: volume for the mass you entered
5 mg ÷ 2 mL = 2.5 mg/mL

Why the same vial can read three different numbers
The confusion is usually about the diluent. Changing its volume changes the concentration. It does not change the mass sealed in the vial.
01
Dry mass, sealed
The vial holds a fixed mass of lyophilized peptide. That figure does not move.
02
Diluent added
Bacteriostatic or antibacterial water adds volume. It does not add or remove peptide mass.
03
Concentration set
The mass is then distributed through the liquid: milligrams divided by millilitres, fixed until the vial is gone.
A U-100 mark is a hundredth of a millilitre
The barrel is printed in units. Each unit on this U-100 scale is 0.01 mL, and 100 units is 1 mL. The calculator converts a mass you type into a volume, then into those units. The barrel is a property of the syringe. The concentration is a property of the vial.
